If you’ve found us by googling ‘coaching qualification’, then you’ll have seen how confusing it can be finding the right one! Well here’s two reasons why we might be the best fit for you:

1) We offer dual accreditation. The Institute of Leadership & Management exists to support leadership development and the Worldwide Association of Business Coaches is the only global accrediting body that exists purely for business coaching. The vast majority of coaching programmes out there are life coaching orientated, not business coaching. While this obviously has its place, it is not what we do.

2) We don’t use trainers or academics to deliver any of our programmes. You will work with and be taught by an experienced business coach, someone who practises what they preach day in and day out, working with some of the world’s most successful and enduring brands.

Learning hours

All 3 stages of The Business Coaching Programme are delivered on an open programme basis throughout the year. Each stage comprises two days of learning with a total of 48 guided learning hours. The total qualification time is 135 hours and most delegates complete all required elements within 12 months. Builds on the learning from Foundations, using a practical and powerful profiling tool (LEP) to establish and explore what drives behaviour. Delegates learn self & social awareness and how to adapt their style to build better relationships and reduce conflict, enhancing coaching relationships.

Evolution

The final stage of The Business Coaching Programme is designed for those seeking advanced coaching skills, or who wish to complete the journey for professional accreditation - WABC™ Registered Corporate Coach (RCC™) status. The completion of all 3 stages will lead you to become an open practitioner with a professional coaching qualification WABC Registered Corporate Coach (RCC).

In its simplest form, the job of a great team coach is to help a group of individuals better understand how to draw the best from one another, and therefore leverage the power of the group to achieve far greater results than can be achieved individually. Our two day accredited programme will teach you how.

We take a systemic approach to helping teams perform even better, incorporating a structure that can be used with any team. This helps groups first understand, and then improve their cognitive functioning (quality of thinking, problem solving and decision making) and what we call ’the glue’ - the trust, grit, zeal and perseverance that binds them all together.

Leading Energy Profile (LEP) is a new kind of profiling tool that teaches people the master skill of adaptive communication, i.e. learning how and when to flex your style to get better results with others.

LEP can be used to enhance any development intervention from; 1:1 coaching, team facilitation, leadership development or negotiation and communication workshops.

Becoming a licensed practitioner will give you an insightful, fresh and different approach when working with individuals and teams. As a licensed practitioner, you will help individuals transform their leadership style through enhanced communication and influencing skills, enhancing team performance and driving more productive and impactful relationships.

Our Foundations Programme equips managers and leaders with the basics giving them confidence and skills needed to coach in a business environment. Learning takes place in a highly practical and energetic environment, with discussion and feedback from our team of practising business coaches.

In addition to that, you will develop a far more powerful and impactful style of communicating with everyone you interact with.

We will take you through our 6 key skills of coaching, and share with you insights taken from neuroscience and human psychology that will help you better understand your self and those around you. Through practice, exercises, live demos, observation and our step-by-step bespoke video series (which is then available to you as a graduate), we ensure your learning journey is varied and challenging. Above all, however, we keep it practical and results focused, meaning you can begin to implement the skills you learn immediately in your role.

Awareness and Evolution are two distinct programmes but are offered as a progression package. For those looking to work towards a professional coaching credential, Awareness & Evolution forms the second stage of The Business Coaching Programme. The full programme is accredited by the Worldwide Association of Business Coaches™ (WABC)™ and offers eligibility to apply for Registered Corporate Coach™ (RCC)™ status.

A great coach must be able to do two things well – manage their own state (what they are thinking, how they feel and how they therefore behave) to remain as effective as possible for the coachee, but also learn to quickly ‘read’ their coachee, so they understand what approach will be most effective and how they can adapt their approach to achieve better results.

Now that you have a coaching core on which to build from Level 1 - Foundations, we focus on how well you manage yourself (self awareness) and the master skill of great coaches, which is how well you are able to read others (social awareness).

We will introduce you to a profiling tool that helps uncover why we behave the way we do and how this knowledge is exceptionally powerful for a coach. We will help you identify your key strengths but highlight the danger of overplaying those strengths.

You’ve learnt and developed your coaching skills, you’ve increased your self-awareness and you’re better at understanding what drives other people’s behaviour. Now is the time to explore the mind of the executive and learn what it takes to be seen as credible and useful to someone at a senior executive level.

This is the focus of Evolution, where we will share with you what it takes to be credible at this level, how to ‘set up for success’ and ways to finesse what you have already learnt. We will show you how to calculate the return-on-investment of coaching in an organisation and demonstrate a powerful new tool that helps you build better relationships with even the most difficult stakeholders.

Then for the grand finale, it is time to test your mettle! You will conduct an observed coaching session with an executive you have never met before, who needs your help with a real-life work challenge. It’s not scripted and anything goes… because as we constantly remind you at The BCA, coaching is a contact sport!

We got fed up working with profiling tools that use confusing acronyms or colour charts, more often than not providing users with a badge to justify their bias (‘well I do that because I’m red’).

So we built our own.
